You have to enjoy snow if you’re going to live on a Montana mountain. This year we have had very good snow conditions for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. The peace and solitude you have when exploring this winter wonderland is awesome. The one drawback is sometimes you have many days without seeing the sunshine.
One evening the clouds moved out and made for a beautiful drive up the North Fork.
When snowshoeing in high country you are frequently surrounded by ghosts
Sometimes Sam and Layla join me for a outing. They are fun to have along, but it’s a lot of work for them in the deep snow.
My neighbor and I took a short trip along McDonald creek in glacier park. This is a very easy and scenic ski or snowshoe outing.
The deep snow makes it difficult to do any horse riding, but we still try to get them out a little bit. Freckles and I were having some fun in the upper pasture
We also trailer the boys to a local arena to keep them working through the winter. Connie finally got the doctors ok to ride after battling some health issues.
You two and the horses look great! Jarvis and I are really missing the sunshine here in MN. We can’t believe how many sunless days there are here! Take care you two! We miss you!
